University of Rhode Island, in Kingston, RI and has
taken specialized training courses through various
trade organizations. Joe is responsible for investigating,
designing, and commissioning electrical and life safety
systems. Joe’s experience includes: tight-tolerance
clean rooms down to class 100, metrology labs, biomedical,
biotechnical, and pharmaceutical research laboratories,
computer rooms, hospitals and medical clinics, industrial
process facilities, universities, and high-rise office
buildings. He also has significant experience with
low and medium voltage distribution, emergency and
standby power systems, new service and switchgear,
and central fire alarm systems.
JENNIFER
V. MORRISON
President & Director of Business Management
As one of the founding partners of Sterling Engineering,
Jennifer is responsible for all aspects of business
management and operations. Her work experience includes
public relations, advertising, business-to-business
marketing, direct sales, and business operations.
In addition to running the daily operations at Sterling,
Jennifer is responsible for accounting and finance
functions, client relationship management, risk management
and contract negotiations, personnel, and strategic
planning.
TODD E. SOMERSET, PE
Senior Mechanical
Engineering Manager
Todd holds a degree in mechanical engineering from
the University of Vermont. He has directly managed
design projects totaling 1.5-2 million and has assisted
in managing construction projects ranging from $50K
to 10M in total construction cost. Todd’s experience
includes engineering mechanical and process systems,
commissioning, and project estimating. Todd’s
daily responsibilities include mechanical engineering
design, project budgeting and proposal development,
and project management. He is a lead client contact
who also schedules and manages design team resources.
Todd’s project focus includes biotech, pharmaceutical,
semiconductor and institutional.
THOMAS L. KEARNEY
Senior Electrical
Engineer
Tom recently joined Sterling in October of 2007. He comes with
more than 20 years of engineering experience including power,
lighting, fire alarm and telecommunications for a variety of commercial,
indudstrial and educational clients. Tom received his BSEE from
University of New Haven in West Haven, CT. Prior to embarking
upon his engineering career, Tom started out as an electrical
apprentice working in general construction. Though fresh to Sterling,
Tom is already working with our top clients and making a significant
contribution to the team.
MICHAEL TOURVILLE,
EIT
Junior Mechanical Engineer
Mike received his BSME from WPI and has been with Sterling since
May of 2007. Since joining Sterling, Mike's hands-on experience
with field conditions and the built environment has proved extremely
valuable. His familiarity with piping systems, testing and measurement,
and data aquisition enables a broader staff resource when Sterling
is called upon to diagnose and test existing building systems.
Mike's engineering design experience has focused upon our industrial
and educational projects with particular emphasis on plumbing
systems.
RICHARD J. GARDNER
Mechanical Designer
Rick joined Sterling in the Spring of 2004 with more than 20 years
of industry experience. As a senior mechanical designer and site
coordinator he is responsible for designing HVAC, plumbing and
fire suppression systems including distribution layout and sizing
of air and fluid systems, heating and cooling load calculations,
geometric coordination of mechanical services and equipment, and
equipment selection. His site responsibilities include in-the-field
coordination of design intent with the built environment, including
consulting with the owner, general contractor, sub-trades, and
other designer-consultants. Rick’s work includes: biomedical
and pharmaceutical research labs, cleanrooms, industrial processing
facilities, and university campus facilities.
JANINE M. RUGGERI
Sr. Mechanical Designer
Jan has been with Sterling Engineering since 1999. During her
tenure she has worked on a variety of projects, including: biomedical
and pharmaceutical research facilities, cleanroom production areas
for semiconductor component manufacturing, low noise labs including
metrology areas, industrial processing facilities, central fire
pump systems, architecture studios, educational offices and classrooms,
banks, and dining facilities. As a senior mechanical designer
Jan is responsible for distribution layout and sizing of air and
fluid systems; heating and cooling load calculations; geometric
coordination of mechanical services and equipment; component selection
for fans, pumps and terminal devices.
CAROL ANDRIGHETTI
Sr. Electrical Designer
Carol has more than 10 years of electrical design and drafting
experience and is a member of the National Fire Protection Association
(NFPA). Her work experience includes biomedical and pharmaceutical
research facilities, educational offices and classrooms and mid-
