Sterling Engineering


Sterling Engineering is a consulting engineering firm (MEP) in the building construction industry. Most of our work involves new and retrofit design as well as investigations and surveys. Our primary projects are for high-tech and biotech manufacturing and R&D (cleanroom) applications. Most of our clients are specialty electronic materials manufacturers (semiconductor), biopharmaceutical and industrial companies, and colleges and universities. We are a small firm of eleven with significant growth plans. We are located in Central New England in Sturbridge, MA.

Mechanical Division Experience:
Strong and recent background in HVAC and process systems including custom air handling units; central cooling and heating plants; process gases, liquids and exhaust; noise and vibration control; domestic water, waste and drain service and distribution; wet and dry sprinkler systems, preaction systems, Halon and Halon-alternatives, and high-hazard/high-explosion protection.

Mechanical Division Skills
: Skill sets vary depending upon position-specific requirements; however, the following skills are applicable to all positions: excellent writing and verbal communication, strong math, critical thinking, multitasking, and proficiency with AutoCAD LT.

Electrical Division Experience: Strong and recent background in power distribution systems for medium and low-voltage applications; emergency and standby power systems; central fire alarm including addressable systems; lighting design and control.
